Deer Hunt

so its deer hunting season.. and im missing out on my favorite time of year :(

fall has always been my favorite with all of the football games, hunting season and the cold wheather starting to show up, and all of the leaves changing colors!

but of course cali is just to cool and there is not much color change, everything is just kinda geenish yellow instead of the pretty red gold and orange, and even the brown! i miss utah!

and its been raining a lot and im just waiting for the snow to start falling and then i just keep remembering that im in california.. and snow just doesnt happen.

i have never craved the snow so bad in my life.

its funny to watch everyone here freak out over the rain and start wearing their uggs and pull out the winter clothes and alex (hes from north dakota) and i are still in flip flops and t shirts.

its crazy!! but its still fun and im loving the rainy gloomy days :)

so braden and laci were kinda competeing to see who was going to get the biggest dear and braden won, by like half a antler haha

here is bradens. he got him right in the shoulders and shattered them both with one shot! pretty awesome if i say so myself. definitely proud of him :)

and here is laci's! she also got him in one shot, not sure where though but im super proud of her too!!

sad that im missing out on everything at home, and that i missed all of bradens football games this season, but im also so excited that i am going to culinary school in california at the best culinary school in the country!

its so insane and its still kinda a surreal experience but i wouldnt trade it for the world!



weekends in st helena

Weekends in St. Helena are BORING! there is nothing to do here because everyone i hang out with us under 21.. and well we are in wine country.. so we tend to make our own fun.

and really that is just sitting in murphy and alex's room being loud and obnoxious!

other than being bored on the weekends, we are in class.  We just got done with our 3rd block of classes!! our first block was Intro to Gastronomy, Culinary Math, and Writing. second was Product Knowledge, and Food Safety. and our third block was Baking Ingredients and Equpiment Technology, and Nutrition.  We werent supposed to have nutrition until later and we were supposed to have principles of design.. but our teach got sick so they had to switch the schedule around a little bit so we had a week of 4 hour nutrition classes. it was rough! But with our first real baking class we were finally able to start getting into the kitchen. we mostly did experiments and chef brown did a lot of demos.. but it was still fun.

our next block starts tomorrow and im kinda nervous but really excited.  we start our culinary skills class with chef tucker, and he is pretty awesome! we are all really excited that we finally get to get out hands dirty :) the best part of this block is that we go to class for a week, then its worlds of flavor and we are having a bunch of japanese chefs come to the school so we dont have school all next week and my mom dad and brother are coming out!! the we have school for two more weeks and then its THANKSGIVING!!!!!! i cant wait. im so excited to go home!

oh and im finally 19! i celebrated my birthday on the 19h and just hung out with friends, it was weird not having my family around, but it was still fun, today is my friend alexs birthday so were partying it up tonight :)

college is pretty bomb so far! i love it and all the people i have met so far and have gotten to know!

rolled ankle, anxiety attack, and killer headaches

Well this was a interesting week!

on monday i had just layed down to take a nap after a couple hours of homework started to put me to sleep

about 2 minutes later i heard jen, heather, and erin in the hall and jen was yelling it hurts hurry!

i was like what the is going on in the hall and then they flew open the door and dropped jen on the bed

she was out running and rolled her ankle while she was running.

she looked to see if her hair looked ok because there is always people in the parking lot, well she didnt see the crator pot hole and stepped right into it.

we called richard, campus sercurity and paramedic, and he came over.

he was asking if anything hurt and i told him just her dignity! haha

so we had to take her to the hospital to make sure everything was ok

after a few hours at the hospital courtney and i left to get food

i told bronte i was coming back down and she asked if i could pick her up. 

we went to gotts and got some food and went back to the hospital

bronte then went in because she felt like she was having a panic attack..

needless to say we were at the hospital for about 4 1/2 hours on monday

tuesday i was horrible pain with the headaches i have been getting all week, it started on saturday and just keeps getting worse

i went and talked to richard and he told me i better go up to the hospital.

they gave me a bunch of meds and i slept for a while

i came back after my head ache went away and slept for another 3 hours..

unfortunatley my headaches arent getting any better so i went back on thursday.

he couldnt tell me anything so he told me I should see the neurologist that works in the hospital

so on the 8th hopefully someone else can tell me whats going on and make the pain go away!

bronte on thursday playing with the cotton swabs and i taught her how to blow up gloves. people from LA are strange and have no fun at the hospital! Nichole and I got pretty good in our CNA class though.

it was the only thing possible!!

my iv from the first visit, upside down though. haha and it was difficult. she had to try a few times to find my vain... it sucked!

chef whites...finally!

We finally got our chef whites and I know feel like i go to school here

its a good feeling, and we dont get stared at like were idiots for walking around in business casual

it was definitely a glorious day and we couldnt wait to try them on!

you cant help but be happy in these. its better than wearing your pj's to school.  they are so comfy its insane!!

hat party and halloween store!

A couple weekends ago Bronte and I went over to guest house, another CIA dorm, and was hanging out with a bunch of people.. well hanging out turned into a hat party and matt decided if you werent wearing a hat you got kicked out.. so we found some hats :)

on monday after class we had to hit the halloween store!

me and bronte went and picked out our costumes and mine ended up being ALOT shorter than it was in the picture so my butt hangs out.. so ill be wearing shorts under mine :)

Bronte turns 18!!

Bronte turned 18!! on sept. 4th Bronte's family got here from Malibu.  I finally got to meet trevor and saw Gary and Tari again.. we talked to them for a while and then I had them try my reeses peanut butter bars, they loved them :)

later I had Heather do my hair and then hurry and get ready to go to dinner!

we got all cute and got ready to head to Calistoga for dinner.  We walked outside and there was a fire truck in the parking lot and everyone from VL1 was standing out in the parking lot, kelly came over and told us that they kicked her out as she was getting her stuff to run out so she could still get drssed so she was still in boxers and a hoodie. So Kelly and Heather said they would meet us there.  Me, Bronte, Roxanne and Coleman left for Calistoga and met her parents and Trevor at Solbar.  We all just hung out and talked while we waited for the other two to get there.  We had a really yummy dinner and even better dessert then we all went to check out the Weiss hotel cottage! It was super cute and the bathroom was bigger than three of out litty bitty ones at school.. and our shower could fit in there and start a family! haha it was pretty funny.  Then we had to check out the back yard that they had and the nice hottub and of course had to take more pictures!!

On Sunday Bronte was supposed to go to dinner with just her family, but they love me so much they invited me to come with them :)  We went to Jole and it was pretty good but not as good as Solbar

fig-tastic!

so a lot has happened in the last 2 weeks!  school is amazing!! i love the atmosphere of all of it and the people are really cool.  On the first day I met Bronte, Kelly and Heather. We all really clicked and got along really well.  My roommate is jen and she is really cool too i like her a lot! We also met a kid named Coleman, and he tends to ruin every eating experience and that just doesnt happen! because anyone that knows me knows eating is my favorite past time!

On the first day we got our books and tool kits. It was better than christmas! Bronte and I were freaking out it was so exciting!  Right now we just have one class at the school and then taking a math and writing class on line. Gastronomy is really interesting and Chef Briwa is really cool.  Me and bronte are really good friends! We act and feel like we have been friends forever and known each other a lot longer than 3 weeks! We dont really hang out with heather and kelly anymore because they are older so they hang out with people their age.. but we still have Coleman :) Last weekend Bronte, Heather, Coleman and I went to San Francisco. It was really fun but some people almost got killed.. lets just say it was a long ride and there was a ton a traffic and heather is a horrible back seat driver! here is a few pictures of whats been going on lately!

this is my super tiny room! there is also 2 desks and a small bathroom with a tiny tiny shower that is almost impossible to shave in! Its definitely a challenge!

well thats college so far! Im loving every minute of it! I cant wait to see where the rest of this adventure takes me.. it is going to be interesting!

Road Trip

so thursday morning my mom and I left for Cali! we had to stop in Orem and pick up new retainers and almost got ourselves killed because my mom is retarded and cant drive! 

example 1. she can NOT drive in construction

example 2. she tried to drive off the curb instead of finding a real exit to the parking lot

example 3. she can't read "wrong way"..."do not enter" and "one way" signs

example 4. she jumps the curbs in the middle of the roads right in front of the Boomtown Security!

lets just say it has definitely been a interesting trip.

starting off it totally rained on our parade..

it poured down from the airport to almost grantsville. we stopped to get a drink and to go to the bathroom as we were leaving the gas station, we realized the keys were suddenly MIA. i kinda started freaking out then realized that i left them in the bathroom.. we definitley had a rough start and we hadnt even left Utah yet.

we drove to Reno and stayed the night and Boomtown. we had a really yummy really expensive dinner and crashed as soon as we got there. who knew driving to reno in a day was so exhausting!

this morning we woke up and drove the rest of the way to Cali. we never saw a "Welcome to California" sign so we was a little bumbed out.. but when we stopped to go to the bathroom, we got out welcome! there was a lady walking down the street wearing pink shorts a white tank top and really curly hair and she was REALLY getting into her music. it was pretty entertaining!

We finally made it to the general area that we were headed and then ended up getting so very lost looking for the airport. and that was last thing i wanted. was to get lost in cali! we finally found it and made our way back to napa.  we drove out to the school and it is even more beautiful right now than it was when we came out in november.  everything is in bloom and the vineyards are still alive. its AMAZING out here. and i LOVE it and i dont know if i will even want to come home! we are staying at a hotel and we knew it was ment to be that we stay here because the movie theatre, barnes and noble, and coldstone are right by the hotel! we went to the movie then came back and just ordered room service and had super yummy turkey clubs that came with cute mini condiments!

so far it has been a really good trip. and i cant wait to see what else comes our way!

last day in sanpete!

So today is my last day living in Mt. Pleasant for the next 2 years!!
im really super excited but im really starting to get nervous.

the weirdest thing will be looking around and not seeing the mountains and just vineyards.
not knowing anyone or anything about my knew home.
my family is going to be 2 states away.

this is going to be the biggest change of my life. i have never left sanpete. and now im going to California. all by myself...

mom i dont know what im going to do without you at school with me. you are my best friend and i know i can always count on you! thank you for always being there for me. your the best mom anyone could ask for and i hope that one day i can have the same relationship with my kids that we have! i love you!!

dad thank you soooo much for everything you have done for me and our family. your amazing and i dont know what i would do without you!  thank you for always providing for us and making sure that we are always happy. your an amazing dad and its going to be hard with out you for the next 2 years. thank you for always helping me with basic things that i have no idea how to do! i love you dad!!

braden im glad your my brother! even though you are a pain in the butt sometimes, most of the time, i do love you. i know i can always count on you to help me. have fun in high school. it goes by fast and enjoy everything with football. you will miss it like crazy when its gone i promise. all those hard long hot practices your going to miss i promise. its hard to believe but its for sure true. i love you and im going to miss you!! good luck with football and keep me updated! i love you!!

So the rain is getting CRAZY! im loving all the lightening storms though. they are pretty amazing to watch!
The only thing that sucks about the rain is that there hasnt been one rainbow after the fact. until today.
